Indigenous Relations

At Pipeworx, we are committed to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion, strengthened by openness, collaboration, trust, leadership, and teamwork.

We recognize our responsibility to the environment and approach every project with a focus on sustainability, striving to minimize our footprint and mitigate both the short‑ and long‑term impacts of our operations.

We are dedicated to building and sustaining meaningful, long‑term relationships with Indigenous communities, grounded in mutual respect, understanding, and shared benefit.

Pipeworx is committed to deepening our understanding of Indigenous issues, demonstrating positive leadership, and advancing equity within our industry. These actions are essential to our path toward meaningful reconciliation.

RELATIONSHIP
BUILDING

At Pipeworx, we believe that strong relationships are built on three essential pillars: Transparency, Respect, and Trust.

We are committed to being open and honest by sharing our intentions clearly and providing communities with genuine opportunities for involvement. Through early and meaningful engagement, we work to identify mutual interests and create shared value.

We also recognize that respect is never automatic, it must be earned. Every project is approached with care and understanding, shaped by the unique cultures, priorities, and histories of the communities and the land where we work. By honoring these differences, we strive to build relationships that are lasting, respectful, and rooted in trust.

CONSULTATION & TRANSPARENT COMMUNICATION

At Pipeworx, we believe that genuine relationships are built on consultation and transparent communication.

Through meaningful engagement, we work alongside community leaders to honor and preserve the history, culture, and significance of the land where each project takes place.

Consultation is at the heart of every project we undertake. By ensuring Indigenous and local communities have a voice in the process, we can collaborate with leadership to deliver projects that are not only successful, but that also foster lasting friendships built on mutual respect and trust.

CAPACITY BUILDING

Pipeworx is committed to working hand in hand with local Indigenous communities through direct engagement. Together, we focus on building community capacity and creating the conditions for sustainable, organic growth.

Our goal goes beyond completing projects, we strive to create meaningful employment and economic opportunities while supporting social, cultural, and environmental priorities. By aligning our efforts with community aspirations, we help foster long-term prosperity and shared success.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
& LOCAL INVESTMENT

Pipeworx is dedicated to supporting local communities through meaningful investment and economic development. By working together, we can strengthen local programs and initiatives, create sustainable jobs, and contribute to a stronger, more resilient local economy.

CULTURAL AWARENESS
& SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Pipeworx acknowledges and respects the unique history, beliefs, and expertise of every Indigenous community. Our role is to foster collaborative environments that honor these differences while aligning efforts in meaningful and practical ways.

By working together, we can provide the support needed to build capacity, strengthen skills, maximize employment opportunities, and create long-term social and economic benefits that will serve communities well into the future.

Call to Action # 92

Pipeworx embraces the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #92 as a guiding framework for our operations. We are committed to applying the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples across all aspects of our business, particularly in projects involving Indigenous peoples, lands, and resources.

This commitment includes:

  • Meaningful Engagement Building respectful relationships through open dialogue, tr ansparency, and meaningful consultation, ensuring free, prior, and informed consent before proceeding with economic development projects.
  • Shared Opportunities  Providing equitable access to employment, training, and education for Indigenous peoples, while ensuring their communities receive long-term, sustainable benefits from our projects.
  • Cultural Awareness & Training  Equipping our leadership and teams with skills-based training in intercultural competency, conflict resolution, human rights, and anti-racism, alongside education on the history and rights of Indigenous peoples, Treaties, Indigenous law, and Aboriginal Crown relations.

Through these actions, Pipeworx aims to foster trust, create shared value, and contribute meaningfully to reconciliation in Canada.
