You can feel the chill in the air, will you be ready when the weather hits? Do you have all the gear you need with you?
Winter boots –inspected and in good condition? Winter jackets and pants, hats, gloves, traction aids, etc. Have you prepared your work areas for winter? What if the snow falls again and we’ve missed an object on the ground that will create a slip/trip fall hazard such as the spike on wood?
Good housekeeping is paramount –items on the ground will become hidden hazards after the snow falls.
Shovels, salt boxes, etc. are available. Have you prepared your vehicles for winter? Do you have a snow brush, winter windshield washer fluid, ice scrapper, tires?
It’s inevitable but Mother Nature likes to keep us guessing. We don’t know exactly when winter is coming, but being prepared will make the transition from warm to cold, that much easier!
With winter approaching small animals are looking for warm places to stay with lots of food available. Please be sure to keep doors and openings to your trailers closed to prevent them from making a nest in your lunch area, as small rodents have the potential to spread disease and bacteria.
