Waste receptacles shall be provided through the work areas. Waste shall be kept segregated as required. Please make reference to Pipeworx Environmental Waste Management Policy.
Ensure materials are well secured especially at elevations to avoid movement during
windy conditions.
Material will not be stored adjacent to perimeter handrails unless the area is totally contained (physically boxed in) to prevent material from falling to a lower elevation. Areas in the proximity of emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, hoses, and emergency personal protective equipment shall be kept clear at all times. Hoses, cables and cords shall be placed in an orderly manner to avoid tripping hazards. Where practical, hoses, cords and cables shall be suspended (minimum 7 ft.) above areas where they may be exposed to damage. Hoses, cords and cables shall be protected from mechanical damage or whenever they pose a tripping hazard, where applicable, if they cannot be suspended.
Oily rags shall be disposed of in identified metal cans and not placed with other garbage. Specific areas for disposal will be identified for recyclable materials; e.g., paper, wood, cardboard and scrap metal.
