Various items may be used to determine wind conditions from anywhere in the facility: windsocks, the flame if it’s present on the flare, or during cooler days the boiler stack emits water vapors which may also help to identify wind direction.
Stay at your muster point and follow muster point signage instructions. The client personal will provide further instruction through radios located at each muster point or through your lead supervisor. Personal should only move if there’s a change in wind direction or other conditions make it unsafe for personnel to remain at muster points.
Please note that muster point is only for the purpose of muster and not a cigarette break.
Once the site has been evacuated, the client representative will confirms with all supervisors that on-site personnel are accounted for. Once the client has confirmed and resolved the cause of the evacuation an all-clear is announced. Remember that all safe work permits have to be re-issued by the client representative indication that it is safe to return to work.
