Pipeworx Ltd. has achieved the COR safety certification and also safety recognition through the Department of Transportation National Safety codes.

ISNetworld and Canada HSE are two of our online safety maintenance programs that monitor and improve our health, safety and environmental program as well as being recognized in the industry as being trained to meet IRP 16 standards (Industry Recommended Practices) which is a basic safety awareness training program in the upstream petroleum industry.

All of our personnel receive a wide range of training annually. This includes training in the following areas:

  • H2S Alive
  • Standard First Aid
  • Company Specific WHMIS and TDG
  • Ground Disturbance
  • On the Job and Competency Training
  • Supervisors are trained in Tap Root (Accident Investigation)
  • IRP 16 Training

As well, we also provide on-going company training/safety meetings on a daily and monthly basis. During these times we review some of the following elements:

  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Hazard Identification and Control
  • Incident Investigation
  • Expectations and Responsibilities on site
  • Refusal of unsafe work

Linda Gerlitz | NCSO

Linda has over 24 years experience in the construction and pipeline industries. Linda has attained her Construction Safety Officer designation and is very active in the safety community. Linda has sat on the Grande Prairie Regional Safety Committee for the past five years and is continuously managing and implementing our Safety Program.

Phil Paul | Safety Officer

Phillip Paul has an impressive history in safety and law enforcement. 26 years of his life were spent working as an R.C.M.P. Constable. He specialized in coordinating and conducting investigations within Immigration and Passport.

In the earlier years of his career Phil worked as a First Aid and C.P.R. Instructor for St. John’s Ambulance. He then went on to become a Constable and worked with several different Western Detachments in Alberta. From 1998 until 2003, he oversaw the Criminal Crash Investigations resulting in 99.9% convictions. In 2005-2007 Phil coordinated and conducted investigations throughout the North West Region, focusing on human trafficking, human smuggling, and other related matters of organized crime and high-risk offenders.

Phil became interested in safety and was employed as Site Safety Manager for Hifab Ltd. He started working for Pipeworx in 2010 and worked his way up to train as NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer). He now travels among Pipeworx’s different job sites, ensuring safety is being enforced and incidents, if any, are being properly recorded.
